OMC International
“SESG provided exceptional consulting services. They had a structured and professional approach, and were extremely helpful, responsive, knowledgeable and friendly, making them a pleasure to work with.
Before working with SESG, my ESG and sustainability knowledge was basic. Although passionate about the cause, I felt overwhelmed by the information and unsure where to start to ensure OMC was doing all it could in this area and focusing on the most important areas first.
After engaging with SESG, I now feel well-grounded in my knowledge. While there’s still much to learn, we have clear sustainability priorities based on what’s important to OMC and its stakeholders. With this new understanding, I am excited to advance OMCs sustainability strategy, promoting a safer and more sustainable future for the shipping industry, and am eager to spread the word and involve others in achieving our shared goal in sustainability.”

Sustainability is so broad – how do I know which areas to report on?
We understand that deciding which sustainability topics deserve to be included in reporting can feel daunting. We offer guided materiality assessments to help you focus on what matters most to your organisation, to ensure your resources are being used effectively.
Materiality assessments identify which topics are most important to your organisation and its stakeholders, whilst taking into consideration your ability to control and influence these topics. This avoids spending resources on areas that have less real impact, and helps to align organisational targets with the most important topics.
What are the steps in a materiality assessment process?
We guide you through a structured materiality process, starting with mapping your value chain to understand its interactions with the economy, environment, and stakeholders. From this, we identify and assess relevant sustainability topics through internal and external engagement, evaluating their importance, your level of control and influence, and their impact and financial significance.
The process culminates in a clear, visual materiality matrix supported by practical recommendations and next steps.
What reporting standard should I use?
When it comes to reporting standards, there are many to choose from and selecting the right ones for your organisation is important.
Factors affecting selection can include compliance obligations such as reporting in line with the Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards (ASRS), investor expectations, resource availability and your company’s level of appetite for disclosing sustainability-related information. It may be that your organisation uses a mix of standards to satisfy varying requirements.
A good place to start is to think about the key drivers for your organisation to develop a sustainability report.
